             Design, Thermal, Manufacturing and other Allied steams

  1. Maximum Presentation time is 5 minutes and an additional 2 minutes for queries.

  2. Maximum participants (authors) are 2 per team.

  3. Number of slides should not exceed 12.

  4. Mail your full paper to metiquest2k19@gmail.com with the subject line as “College name - Title of your paper”.

  5. Full paper should be submitted within 19th February 2019.

  6. Intimation of selection will be sent on 21st February 2019.

Poster Presentation:

TOPIC :

RECENT DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATIONS IN MECHANICAL

  1. Two members per team.

  2. Poster should be in the size of A2.

  3. Mention your Name and affiliation at the bottom right of poster.

  4. Posters should be precise and concise.

  5. Before the poster session, rehearse a brief summary of your project/poster.

  6. Posters should be mounted on your assigned display board by the time your session begins.

  7. Push pins (or) Velcro must be used to hang your poster.

  8. Board must be oriented in the “landscape” position.

  9. Use colour to enhance comprehension not to decorate the poster.

  10. Figures should be numbered consecutively accordingly to the order.

  11. Limit the text to 1/4th of the poster space.

Mechathon :
  1. Two members per team.

  2. Prelims: 20 questions will be asked. All 20 questions will be core-mechanical based (Objective – 10, Fill in the Blanks – 10).

  3. 5 groups will be shortlisted for the next round.

  4. Connections round will be conducted and questions will also be pure mechanical.

First 2 teams will be rewarded.

CLAY modelling:

​

       Any number of teams from a college can be registered.

  1. Two members per team.

  2. A preliminary round will be conducted to shortlist candidates, which will consist of questions from manufacturing technology and related concepts.

  3. Clay will be provided for the final round.

  4. Modelling tools will not be provided. Participants should bring their own tools.

  5. Model should not consist of any pre-made components.

  6. Decision of event co-ordinators is final.

CAD modelling:
  1. Any number of teams from a college can be registered.

  2. Two members per team.

  3. A preliminary round will be conducted to shortlist candidates, which will consist of questions from Engineering graphics, CAD and related concepts.

  4. Contestants will be required to model the given 2D or 3D model.

  5. Software provided: AutoCAD, Solid Edge.

  6. Contestants will be judged based on components and time taken for modelling.

  7. Decision of event co-ordinators is final.

Technical Quiz:

​

  1. Any number of teams from a college can be registered.

  2. Each team can consist of a maximum of 2 members.

  3. Total rounds will be 3.

  4. The first round is a written preliminary. The remaining competition details will be given on the spot.

  5. Team involved in any form of malpractice will be disqualified.

  6. Decision made by the event co-ordinators is final.

Water Rocketry:

​

  1. Team of 2 (or) 3 members are permitted.

  2. Participants are supposed to get their own launching pads which cannot be shared with other team.

  3. Pump with standard rating will be provided by organizers.

  4. Rocket body should be made only with plastic bottles of aerated soft drinks of maximum capacity of 2.5 lit.

  5. More than one bottle can be permitted but with the specified capacity.

  6. Only water should be used in propulsion of rocket. Water will be provided by the organizers.

  7. Use of electronic components and chemical explosives are banned.

  8. Decision of the organizers is final.
